Which multilingualism do you speak? Translanguaging as an integral part of individuals� lives in the Casamance, Senegal

Senegal is a West African country that highly diverse and multilingual on societal individual level. Multilingualism used in most interactions of peoples� everyday lives translanguaging fashion. Yet, beside some small efforts, the only official language institutional sector education remains French. However, educational systems policies do not reflect reality people they are created for since monolingualism often plays minor role their lives. Based empirical data collected Casamance, this article focuses particular these issues through displaying multilingualism as an adapting system moves within social environments while integrating different languages, intermixed way appropriate its speakers respective situations. On basis case examples, concepts presented reinforcement with potential to strengthen local languages cultures from inside out.
